Women's Golf History 
 

1993-94: On July 30, 1993, Eastern Kentucky University added women's golf to its intercollegiate athletics. Long time women's tennis coach Sandy Martin takes the position of head coach. September 11, 1993 marked the team's first competition at the University of Dayton golf tournament. Eastern's first year of play was highlighted by the play of Beverly Brockman. She won three tournaments and the Ohio Valley Conference Championship. Eastern ends the season by placing second at the OVC Tournament

1994-95: The team increases its size to nine palyers. Once again the Colonels are led by Beverly Brockman's three wins. Eastern finishes the season with its second consecutive runnerup finish in the OVC Tournament

1995-96: Eastern wins its first ever Ohio Valley Conference Championship team title and Beverly Brockman wins the conference individual title for the second time in three years. Freshman Julie Borne is the conference runnerup behind Brockman. The team consists of eight players and four players are recruited to bring the roster to 11 for the 1996-97 season.

    1996-97: Beverly Brockman finishes her EKU career with her third Ohio Valley Conference individual title in leading the Colonels to a second place finish in the annual OVC Tourney. Eastern enjoyed a very successful spring season which included winning its own nine-team Lady Colonel Classic and placing among the top five teams in all but one of the six tournaments in which EKU competed.

    1997-98: Paced by sophomore Jackie Biro's third place individual finish, EKU placed second at the annual Ohio Valley Conference golf tournament in April, this year held at the Colonels' Arlington Golf Course. Other EKU players in the top 10 were sophomore Krissie Kirby who placed eighth and junior Julie Bourne who finished 10th. Eastern also enjoyed an excellent Fall season in 1997 that saw the Colonels finish second in the EKU Invitational, fourth in both the Tennessee Tech Classic and the Lady Falcon Invitational at Bowling Green State University and sixth in the Racer/Hilltopper Classic.
